2016 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of BMW. The automaker’s largest anniversary celebration outside of Munich will take place August 18th – 21st in Monterey, California, where BMW will serve as the featured marquee at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Want to know the coolest part? 64 vintage BMW race cars will be on hand to represent the BMW brand. They include everything from a group of 1930s BMW 328 models, to the 1999 BMW V12 LMR. The Rolex Reunion will feature the largest ever gathering of BMW M1 ProCars in the USA. All five factory IMSA specification BMW 3.0 CSl models will be back together for the first time since they raced in 1975 and 1976. Seven cars from the BMW USA Classic collection will be on hand too, with drivers including BMW of North America Chairman Ludwig Willisch and several past and current BMW Motorsport drivers.

Rather than opt for the typical display at the Rolex Reunion, BMW of North America has created the BMW Living Legends Garage. The garage will serve to house a selection of BMW vehicles chronicling the company’s racing heritage. Even better, many of those cars will be actively competing throughout the weekend, giving visitors a chance to see, hear, feel, and even smell the BMW brand's racing history in action.
