The BMW i8, which was recently revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, will be a plug-in hybrid sports car. As the first of its kind, the i8 is sure to make a big impression! Described as a 2+2-seater with LifeDrive architecture that was developed specifically for BMW i models, this particular model catches the eye thanks to its aerodynamically groundbreaking body design. This plug-in hybrid will be powered by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery, all of which combine to offer up to 362 horsepower. BMW reports that the i8 will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds, driving a range of up to 22 miles, and reaching top speeds of 75 mph on electric power alone. In addition to all of this, the i8 is expected to have incredible fuel efficiency ratings.
