The new model was announced at the 2017 Auto Shanghai show last month. In terms of performance, the BMW M4 CS sits between the BMW M4 Coupe with Competition Package and the BMW M4 GTS. Well, we shouldn’t say “sits.” With a high-performance TwinPower Turbo 3.0 liter engine kicking out 454 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, this amazing vehicle wants to do anything but sit still.
With the cutting-edge 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic, gear changes take place in mere fractions of a second, with no interruption in power flow in either automatic or manual mode. Driving dynamics are further improved by the lightweight forged aluminum suspension links and wheel carriers at the front and rear axles.
The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system—complete with M Dynamic Mode (MDM) and Active M Differential—ensures the best grip possible, regardless of driving conditions. And each of these systems has been specially tuned to the requirements of the BMW M4 CS. To put these systems to the test, BMW honed their special-edition sports car on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, the most demanding test track of all time, completing the course in an astounding 7 minutes and 38 seconds.
